Greg Alcock Vancouver Entertainer

Greg Leighton Alcock

A highly skilled and versatile Piano Entertainer whose career encompasses performances throughout Canada, Europe, and hometown Vancouver, BC. He has fulfilled over fifty contracts on the cruise lines of Carnival, Princess, Holland America, Celebrity, Cunard, and Disney. His repertoire is vast, his show fun, interactive, and dazzling!

 THE FUN AND INTERACTIVE

Greg is a great entertainer. His sense of humour and personality are very memorable. This is experienced in the way he engages with guests and his “improvs” of the moment and singalongs, which are clever and comical. He is able to present any genre of music desired, frequently delighting his audiences with rousing renditions of pop classics by Elton John, Billy Joel, Beatles, or providing a backdrop of light ambient jazz or classical.

THE VAST AND DAZZLING

Greg’s sheer volume of pieces and arrangements are impressive, with styles ranging through Jazz, Rock, Blues, Boogie Woogie, Ragtime, Show Tunes, Movie Themes, and Classical. His renditions of Bumblebee Boogie, Great Balls of Fire, Linus And Lucy, Maple Leaf Rag, and so many more are enthralling!

His technical facet on the instrument is at a very high level, with the ability to combine performance characteristics such as melody, harmony, and rhythm
in a way that “dances the audience”, as they follow his lead.

While in Vancouver, Greg performs regularly in the Bacchus Lounge at Wedgewood Hotel.

Greg studied at UBC School of Music under professor emeritus Robert Rogers, and Edward Parker – uncle of internationally acclaimed pianist Jon Kimura Parker.
